In a rundown part of town, a devious landlady and her ambitious daughter make ends meet by renting out a small apartment. Not satisfied with a single rent, they manage to let out the flat to 2 men who never meet, as one works during the day and one works at night. To maintain the deception, the conniving pair must keep the men apart and refurbish the room twice a day. But both the men have secrets hidden in the room, secrets that emerge with ghastly consequences when one of them returns home early with a bad hangover.
Loosely based on John Morton's Victorian one-act farce,
Box and Cox, this is a manic black comedy about greed and deceit.
IMAGINE THE COEN BROTHERS DIRECTING A CHAUCERIAN FABLE IN THE STYLE OF A PANTOMIME AND YOU'LL GET SOME IDEA OF THE STRANGE, TUMULTUOUS AND RIBALD NATURE OF THIS PRODUCTION.
We are taking bookings around a 2 week run at the New Diorama theatre, London, bewteen 11 - 23 June. Dates available between June 1st and July 7th.

*********************** NEW SHOW ***********************
Blackly comic, horribly real and wonderfully other-worldly, LOST FAITH suggests all world religions are run by a vast corporate entity, FAITH plc. The executive team are assembled to confront the underperformance of one of their brands. They blame the workforce, the brand champions, presenting a litany of lying, adulterous, bigamous, thieving and perverted clergy. They also blame the consumers, the stupid, morally bankrupt and fickle public.
Into this acrimonious atmosphere comes a Management Consultant. His view is different. He feels the problem with the brand is a failure of leadership. The fault lies at the top.
By way of an example he tells the story of Edguardo Mortara, a 6 yr old jewish boy in Bologna, 1858. When he falls ill with a fever, his catholic maid secretly baptizes him, fearing for his soul, but he survives. He is then kidnapped and raised by the catholic church - by the pope himself. His parents never see him again. The ensuing furore ultimately ends the worldly papal power for ever.
MetaMorpho present this fantasy through text, mask, puppetry and projection.
